When you unexpectedly find yourself pregnant and alone, it can feel like a lot to carry. You may still be processing the results of your test, may not have told anyone else about your news, or maybe unsure how you'll continue your schooling or work over the next few months. Going through this by yourself is hard. But being a single woman and pregnant does not mean you have to face everything alone.
So what's next?
Most women want to confirm they are pregnant first, since an at-home test can be inaccurate. Plus, an at-home test doesn't tell you how far along you are or whether the pregnancy is healthy.
Crossroads Resource Center provides free lab-quality pregnancy testing with accuracy levels over 99% and results available on the same day. If your test is positive, we'll sit down with you to go over your options, no pressure, just information.
We also provide no-cost limited OB ultrasounds to confirm that a viable pregnancy exists, check how many weeks pregnant you are, and see whether everything is developing as it should. This information is essential before making any decision about your pregnancy, including abortion. Being well-informed with factual data can change the choices you consider.
You still have choices!
One of the hardest parts of an unplanned pregnancy is that women often feel they need to make a decision quickly. The truth is that you have time. You have three paths to consider: parenting, adoption, and abortion. We'll go over each of those with you in a private options consultation, no judgment, no agenda. You can ask any questions you have so you can make an informed decision.
If you are considering adoption, we'll provide information on the various types, open, semi-open, and closed, and connect you with agencies that fit what you're looking for. If parenting feels like a good fit for you, we can talk about community resources, options for financial assistance, and how you can balance school or work while preparing for this new role. Depending on where you are in the process, some of that planning can wait until you have had some time to breathe.
All of our services are free, no strings attached
All of the services we provide are completely free of charge. This includes STI screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea, which should be treated during pregnancy regardless of your eventual decision. We also provide a pre-abortion medical verification package that includes a pregnancy test, ultrasound, STI testing, and a nurse consultation, so you have complete medical information before scheduling a procedure.
