Gonorrhea
- Many women and men have NO SYMPTOMS of Gonorrhea.
- Symptoms can take up to 30 days to appear.
- In women, gonorrhea can spread into the uterus or fallopian tubes and cause pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Chlamydia
- Chemical contraceptive methods provide no protection against STDs and can actually increase your risk of getting an STD by making your reproductive tract more vulnerable to infection.
- 75% of women who are infected with Chlamydia do not know they have it, because they have NO SYMPTOMS.
- Symptoms can take 1-3 weeks to appear after exposure.
- Chlamydia is the most commonly reported STD in the United States.
